CDI’s eight-person Capital Cost Estimating team recently achieved an internal milestone: 1,063M cumulative value of TIC estimates in 30 calendar days. According to Marty Belgard, Cost Estimating Manager, this is the highest level in his 17-year career with CDI. “We’ve done large estimates before, up to $1.5B, but never this many large estimates for projects in all three CDI Engineering Centers in such a short period of time.” Belgard has more than thirty years of experience estimating in support of capital cost projects, and has been an invited speaker to numerous cost estimating conferences. “I’m also happy that we were able to meet the aggressive schedule expectations of the five clients that comprised the $1B,” he added, noting that his department is on track to produce more than $7B in estimates by the end of 2023.”
